We’ve had an excellent season of head racing with 3 events and would like to thank our neighbouring association, HDARA for welcoming us at two of these.
Southampton 15/3/25
We started the season strong, taking 12 rowers to Southampton, for all bar one of our rowers, this was their first ever head race. The club walked away with 3x medal positions across the 5k course
3rd for our Masters40 crew against some tough competition
3rd for our Open Women’s Pair (at junior level being beaten by two senior pairs)
3rd for our Open Double

Adur Head 16/3/25

The weekend didn’t stop there as we travelled back along the coastline to Shoreham for the patiently awaited Adur Head. This is a head race that many of our rowers have waited several years to race.
Division 1 saw a strong start for the club with medals in
1st in the Masters50.
1st for our Women’s Junior Pair, who successfully caught a senior pair!
Division 2 saw all of our rowers on the water,
Our newly formed Women’s Masters40 crew entering their first ever race walked away with 1st place! And another gold medal followed for our Captain, in Junior sculls.
Other medal positions include
2nd Women Junior 4
3rd Men Novice 4
3rd Men Junior Pair
3rd Men Open Double
Thank you to all our coxes for giving up their time on the day.
BTC Head Race 29/3/25
With only a weekend to practise, we travelled back down the coastline to Southampton to join BTC at their regatta on Saturday 29th of March where Spring even made an appearance with some sunshine!
Our Women’s Junior Pair, overtook two crews, walking away with 1st place, 32 seconds ahead of their competitors on the 5k course.
2nd place for our Masters40 in div1 and 3rd place in Men’s Junior sculls in div2.
We had a battle of time in Men’s Open doubles between our younger and “older” members, with just 9 seconds separating them, coming home in 3rd and 4th place.
We have thoroughly enjoyed head racing and are looking onwards to the CARA season, kicking off with our regatta on
Saturday 10th of May.
